Police have made an arrest in the shooting of an off-duty New York City Police Department detective in the Bronx and say assault charges are pending.
Investigators say the 43-year-old detective was shot from behind after he broke up a fight in the parking lot of the Pelham Bay Diner around 4:30 yesterday morning.
Police have not released the detective’s name, but they say he is expected to recover.
Investigators say six men were involved in the dispute.
