Beatriz Muylaert covers Kigsbridge & Riverdale for the BronxInk.org. She previously led operations at Quatro Cinco Um, a Brazilian independent book review based in São Paulo. Beatriz earned a BA in business from Fundação Getúlio Vargas in 2012 and worked at a branding consultancy before shifting careers to journalism. Seyma Bayram covers Williamsbridge. Previously, she was editor of the publishing program at a Utrecht-based experimental arts non-profit and a high school teacher in Brooklyn. Bayram is committed to documenting the stories of individuals and communities whose voices are often excluded from mainstream media. She holds a degree in comparative literature from Binghamton University and is currently a graduate student at the Columbia Journalism School. Tristan Cimini covers education and Bronx Community District 1 for BronxInk.org. She got her start in journalism through radio. She’s interned at WNYC, WBUR, and The New England Center for Investigative Reporting. After graduating from Oberlin College, she joined WGBH as a producer and spent two years contributing reporting to the local All Things Considered and Morning Edition. Allen Devlin graduated from the University of South Carolina in May of 2018 with a B.A in Broadcast Journalism. During his time at USC, Allen served as an anchor, reporter, and correspondent for Gamecock Television and Carolina News, the university’s two broadcast stations. Allen worked with the ABC affiliate WSBTV in Atlanta during his summers as an undergraduate student, as well as CNN during the 2016 Presidential Election. Allen’s eagerness has only grown with his arrival to New York City as a student enrolled in Columbia’s Graduate School of Journalism and he is looking forward to exploring the Bronx and continuing to pursue his passion.
Olivia Eubanks was born and raised in California and she has interned with CNBC and NBC’s Today Show. She is attending Columbia Journalism to learn and broaden her interests in all the different aspects of journalism.
Max Horberry covers East Tremont for bronxinx.org. Originally from London, UK, he graduated from the University of Glasgow in 2013. Since then he has spent time in China, Mexico and Palestine, working in documentary and print. He is currently a graduate student at Columbia Journalism School. Virginia Norder was born and raised in Rosemount, Minn. Norder graduated in May 2018 with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University and currently is working towards her Masters in Journalism at The Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. Joasia E. Popowicz is an investigative journalist from London. She is the Soundview correspondent for The Bronx Ink with a focus on domestic violence, homicide and sex offender laws.
