Third Target store to open in the Bronx

With plans to add another store, Target and local developers have bought an old postal building in the Bronx for $35 million, according to a report by Real Deal. The transactions comes amid heated controversy over Walmart’s plans to move to N.Y.C.

The chain retailer already has two stores in the Bronx. The third location comprises 7.9 acres in Throgs Neck. The plan is reportedly to develop a 300,000-square-foot mall in which Target would have a store.
The building was closed in September and since has been used as an equipment transfer station until now.
