Bronx man faces 30 years in prison

A Bronx man plead guilty in New York federal court Tuesday to transporting an underage girl across state lines where she was forced to perform sexual acts on an NFL star.

Rasheed Davis, 37, plead to one count of inducing the interstate travel of another for the purpose of engaging in illicit sexual conduct for financial gain. Davis is said to have transported a runaway 16-year-old girl to the hotel room of Lawrence Taylor, a former linebacker for the New York Giants.

Police pulled over Davis’ car on May 6 at a routine Bronx traffic stop where they found $300 and a note with the address of the Holiday Inn in Montebello. The note also specified the room number.

Police arrested Taylor later that day in the hotel room on charges of third-degree rape and patronizing a prostitute.

Taylor pleaded guilty in January and was sentenced in March to six years’ probation. He also must register on the New York State Sex Offender Registry.

Davis could be behind bars for 30 years and fined up to $250,000. (The Journal News)
