Authorities have asked for the public’s help in identifying a man who they said sexually assaulted six women in in the span of six hours in the Bronx Thursday morning, publicly groping them in broad daylight.
The string of attacks began at 6:15 a.m. in the Baychester section, when a 51-year-old woman was approached from behind and groped, according to the police. The suspect fled.
Later attacks followed much the same pattern, and came in quick succession — two of the assaults took place only 12 minutes apart. The final assault took place around noon.
The victims ranged in age from 28 to 51, and the assaults took place in the Baychester and Soundview neighborhoods.
Police have released a video they captured of the assailant moments after he groped a women. Police say the suspect, who was wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt and grey sweatpants, is a black male in his ’20s, about 5’10” tall with a thin build.
