Kingsbridge Woman Arrested for Setting Apartment Building Fire

A Bronx woman was arrested by New York City fire marshals yesterday. She is charged with manslaughter, arson and reckless endgangerment after allegedly setting a fire in her Kingsbridge apartment building.

NY1 reports that Wendy Walston, 46, started the fire Sept. 12 inside her second-floor apartment at 2727 University Ave. She shared the apartment with her 50-year-old boyfriend, Thomas Galvin.

It took more than 100 firefighters to stop the fire. Ten were seriously injured. Galvin died from his injuries.
