City Violated Environmental Law in Construction of Bronx School

The New York Court of Appeals ruled that the New York City violated environmental law by building a school on contaminated land without releasing a long-term monitoring plan. DNA Info reports that an organization called the Bronx Committee for Toxic Free Schools won its case at a Mott Haven site that houses several schools.

New York State requires be a plan to minimize students’ and teachers’ exposure to toxins.
