Bus driver says he was awake and sober

The Bus driver in the Bronx crash that killed 15 people last week  insists that he was well-rested and sober at the time of the crash, ABC7 reports.

Two survivors say otherwise, however, as they plan to sue Williams for dozing off in the moments before the tractor trailer veered toward them.

Williams and his lawyer maintain that the crash was a tragic accident,  that Williams was lucid and not sleeping behind the wheel at the time of the incident.  His wife, Holly Williams, calls the incident “a nightmare.”  She describes her husband as a loving father.

In recent days, Williams’ past convictions of manslaughter and grand larceny and driving without a valid license have come to light.  ABC7
