Subway candy seller makes $150 a day

Alex “Tracks” McFarlane makes his living by hawking candy on the D train every day. The 25-year-old candy seller makes about $150 from selling M&M’s and Welch’s Fruit Snacks fove hours a day, considerably higher than the average Bronxite’s annual income of $17,301.

McFarlane said that selling candy “kept him off the streets for 14 years,” and earned him enough to support his three children.
