Produce wholesalers at the Hunts Point Produce Market in the Bronx brought over 4,000 pounds of fruits and vegetables to areas that were affected by Sandy, the New York Daily News reports. Oranges, apples, pears, bananas, carrots, blackberries, grapes and persimmons were shipped to shelters at schools in Brooklyn, Queens and Staten Island.
