Mourners gathered yesterday in memory of the 15-year-old girl found strangled on Friday morning. Police arrested 18-year-old Angel Morales yesterday in connection with the shooting of a young girl. NY1 reports that Morales is charged with attempted murder and weapons possession. The 5-year-old girl was taken to the hospital for a wound in her torso and is in stable condition.

Shot 5-Year-Old Girl in Stable Condition

Police say that a 5-year-old girl was shot early this morning in Tremont, in the courtyard of the Hughes Avenue building. DNA Info reports that an investigation is ongoing and it’s unclear why the girl was fired upon. The girl was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital, where she is in stable condition and recovering.

Bronx artist Nina Seigenfeld-Velazquez, 51, exhibits a collection of drawings on Post-it Notes and other everyday objects at the Riverdale Public Library.
