Following Gov. Cuomo’s decision to drop a Bronx health care network run by ex-state Senator Pedro Espada from Medicaid, residents stormed the Westchester County hometown of Cuomo on Monday.

According to the NY Daily News, three busloads of patients, employees and Bronx residents staged a rally for Soundview Health Care Network at a park a few miles from Cuomo’s suburban residence on the border of Mt. Kisco and New Castle

Espada is facing federal charges that he looted Soundview to bankroll his lavish lifestyle.

Morristown in the Bronx will soon be the home of a $350 million medical campus, Real Estate Weekly reported.

Located at a 50-acre site along 1500 Waters Place, the six-building complex will hold the offices the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York, the New York State Office of Mental Health and the Bronx Psychiatric Center.

According to its builder, the Spector Group the project will be completed in 2013.

Indicted Bronx Councilman Larry Seabrook, whose corruption case ended in mistrial, will be allowed to distribute more than $350,000 in taxpayer money to community groups in his district, thanks to Council Speaker Christine Quinn.

According to the New York Post, Quinn, who is expected to run for mayor, approved the release of the funds to Seabrook, who was indicted for misusing $1.2 million in city funds from 2002 to 2009.

Quinn defended her decision saying checks and balances are now in place to prevent misappropriation of funds.

A 16-year-old suspect in the shooting of another teenager outside a Bronx precinct has been apprehended, according to the NY Daily News.

The shooting occurred around 1:25 a.m. Thursday, according to the New York Police Department.

The victim is in critical but stable condition at the St. Barnabus Hospital.

A Puerto Rico native who grew up in the South Bronx has transformed his house into a bed-and-breakfast placed called Mi Casa Tu Casa Guesthouse.

Real estate mogul and reality show star Donald Trump is coming to the Bronx.

According to the NYDaily News, Trump’s company and the New York City Parks and Recreation Department signed a 20-year license deal to operate the golf course at Ferry Point Park in the Bronx.

The Trump Organization will reportedly invest $10 million in the project. Trump’s company also runs New York City skating rinks and the Central Park carousel.

On Dec. 25, Eugenia Pedraza turns 51. But behind bars, there’s not much to celebrate.

The Bronx mother has been in prison for 12 years following a tangled family dispute, which involved kidnapping an an attempted murder, according to NY1.

Pedraza, who has a daughter staying at Columbia University, said she is innocent of the crime and is pleading for clemency from Gov. Mario Cuomo.

“If she was white, if she spoke English, and if she had any financial means whatsoever, there’s not a chance she would be in jail. Not a chance,” says attorney Richard Schoestein.
